The BB-10 is a compact bass horn that has been specifically designed for high-output, large-scale sound applications in both home and large venue settings.
Its main purpose is to accompany the new VZA Alpine Z-1 mid-horns.
The BB-10 is a high efficiency design that is extremely fast and powerful. With this sub, a little goes a long way. What is surprising, is that this sub can be crossed over as high as 125Hz without any difficulty.
The BB-10 was designed to be placed on the floor with one side (back) against the wall and the mouth facing a corner. This configuration ensures optimal loading and performance.
The subwoofer can be wall mounted in the corner, with the mouth facing down towards the floor or upwards towards the ceiling. If there is no corner available, you have a couple of options. You can use two subwoofers side by side (drivers should not face each other), firing towards the wall.
Alternatively, you can use two subwoofers with their mouths facing each other and their sides or backs against the wall. This array can also be vertically mounted in a corner.
They can also be set up in an array or line against a wall, where they vent into the back or top of the one in front of it.
For open air applications, you can use four units - two side by side with their vents facing another pair of two side by side. This configuration can also be wall mounted.

DownloadWe use the Dayton Audio SPA250DSP 250W Subwoofer Plate Amplifier with DSP to power the BB-10 horn-loaded subwoofer.
This amplifier is versatile and provides a power output that matches the BB-10's power handling capabilities. It offers various features such as bandwidth limits, rumble filter, EQ, and more.
The DSP functionality is highly versatile and allows for the safe and accurate adjustment to tailor the sound to the room acoustics / load.
The Dayton Audio SPA250DSP 250W Subwoofer Plate Amplifier offers a variety of inputs and outputs, including ¼" jack, RCA, and the balanced XLR, which is our personal favorite as it provides an additional 6dB increase to the input/output.
The plate amp can be driven from a low-level signal, such as a preamp, or directly from a high-output signal, such as an amplifier speaker output connection.
Additionally, the plate amp will sum both left and right channels to process the bass channel.
The adjustable presets on this plate amp can be saved and recalled / loaded as needed. After extensive listening, evaluation and measuring, we have determined the optimum settings for the BB-10. This amp will be preloaded with the latest settings with the purchase of the BB-10 subwoofer.
